STATE CAPITOL, PHOENIX –  House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee Chairman Leo Biasiucci today welcomed Toyota’s $50 million expansion at the Arizona Proving Grounds near Wittmann—a major investment in District 30 and a boost to Arizona’s growing role in vehicle testing and innovation.

Toyota’s expansion at the site includes a 5.5-mile oval track, new off-road and ride-handling facilities, and upgraded testing areas for driver-assistance technologies. Much of the development is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

“This is great news for Wittmann and Arizona,” said Chairman Biasiucci. “Toyota has been here for decades —but this latest expansion shows they’re still growing and betting on our state. As Chairman of the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee and a representative of this community, I couldn’t be prouder to see our district playing a key part in shaping the future of automotive technology.”

The Arizona Mobility Test Center at Toyota Arizona Proving Grounds sits on 11,650 acres and now includes more than 70 miles of testing surfaces. Toyota has operated at the site since 1993 and opened it to industry-wide use in 2021. Since then, dozens of companies and hundreds of vehicles have used the facility for research, development, and testing.
