STATE CAPITOL, PHOENIX – State Representative Jeff Weninger has introduced HB2748, the “Fair Ticketing Act,” a consumer-focused bill aimed at injecting more trust and accountability to Arizona’s event ticketing industry. With growing frustration over withheld ticket deliveries and monopolistic practices, the legislation seeks to protect Arizonans and improve the ticket-buying experience for concerts, sporting events, and other live entertainment.

“Right now, the ticketing process is unnecessarily stressful, overly complicated, and often expensive. Families may spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars on tickets, flights and accommodations, only to have to wait to receive their actual tickets as little as 24 hours before an event. This isn’t just inconvenient – it’s unacceptable,” said Representative Weninger, Chairman of the House Commerce Committee. “From the moment of purchase, consumers deserve absolute certainty about delivery timeframes. This bill is a step forward in rebuilding consumer trust, holding primary ticketing companies accountable, and putting fan experience first.”

The Fair Ticketing Act requires original ticket sales to be delivered to buyers immediately upon purchase, ending unnecessary delays that create stress and uncertainty.

HB2748 responds to widespread distrust in the ticketing industry. Fans have reported frustrations ranging from receiving fake tickets to receiving tickets just hours before a show.

The bill has already gained support from consumer advocates and industry stakeholders who have pushed back against anti-consumer practices in ticketing.
