STATE CAPITOL, PHOENIX – Arizona House Speaker Steve Montenegro today announced new appointments and promotions to the House Republican Majority staff, including the promotion of Kelsey Jahntz to Deputy Chief of Staff, the appointment of Robyn Poole as General Counsel, and the appointment of Daniel Tilleman as Deputy General Counsel. The new leadership team will support the Speaker and caucus in advancing conservative policy, ensuring sound governance, and defending Arizona’s laws.

Jahntz, who returned to the House earlier this year as Director of Policy, has been promoted to Deputy Chief of Staff for her leadership and deep knowledge of state government. She brings more than a decade of policy, management, and budget experience in the Legislature, the Governor’s Office, and private consulting, where she has helped shape major education, workforce, and fiscal initiatives that advance conservative governance and responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars.

Poole joins the Speaker’s Office with more than a decade of legal experience in state and municipal government and the private sector, including service with the Arizona Attorney General’s Office, the Arizona Corporation Commission, the City of Phoenix, and as a law clerk for the Arizona Court of Appeals. She has advised public agencies on statutory and constitutional issues, contract law, and regulatory compliance. As General Counsel, she will advise the Speaker and caucus members on legal matters, oversee legislative investigations, manage outside counsel, and ensure House legislation and operations adhere to the highest legal and ethical standards.

Tilleman joins the Speaker’s Office from the law firm Holtzman Vogel, where he focused on appellate, commercial, and constitutional law. A former judicial law clerk at the Arizona Supreme Court and litigation attorney with one of Phoenix’s largest firms, he will provide legal analysis and staff the Committee on Federalism, Military Affairs & Elections. He is a graduate of the University of Arizona’s James E. Rogers College of Law and a member of the Arizona State Bar and the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona.
