STATE CAPITOL, PHOENIX –  Arizona State Representative Alexander Kolodin today exposed the troubling results of his investigation into Governor Katie Hobbs and Attorney General Kris Mayes, revealing they outsourced their official powers to a known leftist group to a greater extent than previously known.

Documents obtained through a months-long investigation show Governor Hobbs and Attorney General Mayes secretly entered into agreements with the far-left States United Democracy Center—a Washington, D.C.-based activist organization with alleged ties to radical progressive funders. This shadowy group has been advising Hobbs and Mayes on ways to weaponize their offices against conservatives, including politically motivated prosecutions.

The documents also show the extent to which Katie Hobbs was dependent on States United as Secretary of State, hiring them no fewer than three separate times over a two-year period to help her run her office,^[1] a relationship she appears to have immediately renewed in one of her first acts as governor.[2] In exchange for their “free” services States United also requested, and was granted, permission to represent interests adverse to the State of Arizona in regulatory and legal proceedings at the same time that it was representing two of its highest ranking officials.[3]

To cover up their illicit activities, States United required both Hobbs and Mayes to allow them to destroy public records, even while acknowledging the possibility that this was illegal^[4]—a fact Kris Mayes outright denied.^[5] Perhaps as a consequence, both Hobbs and Mayes have so-far refused to produce further records related to their relationship with the group.

“Governor Hobbs and Attorney General Mayes have betrayed Arizonans by allowing radical, dark-money activists to infiltrate and weaponize Arizona’s government,” said Representative Kolodin. “This corrupt collusion must be exposed. The people deserve answers, transparency, and immediate accountability.”
